Hi. I have a Canary Daart DAC and there is a hum like sound and music not playing well. When I checked 5173g regulator i see that it is extremely hot. When I push it with a pen, hum is reduced but bottom of the pen melted because chip is too hot. I couldn't find this chip in my country. Can I use equalivent chip or maybe a better one? Coiltronics coil is also buzzing.I am a bit disappointed because it was an expensive dac and I did not use it much. 5khz square wave also almost same as my cheaper Muse DAC which I added in pictures ( I made a mod and changed the power supply Panasonic FC 1800uf capacitor with 2x 1000uf Nichicon muse capacitor but I do not think it caused a problem) I was happy with the sound before it malfunctioned) Regards

First thing I would do is revert to the original cap.
The one cap you changed is naked. Are you sure the polarity is correct?
Are you sure the naked cap's house isn't touching, or didn't touch other parts?

Hi. Yes I am sure polarities are true. The sound was very good after I replaced the capacitor with Nichicon kz. After some months this problem happened ( afaik it happened when I touched the case of dac ,maybe because of static electric discharge)
However I will try your suggestion

Mmm, if it worked for months...
I don't trust that naked cap though. Perhaps gravity made it touch other parts over time.
Static could be, but finding faulty parts (and replace them) won't be easy without schematic.

This too rings a bell for an (unwanted) make and break contact. When I push it with a pen, hum is reduced
I wrote to Yulong audio 2 times but no response received (and also wrote 2 times to a company whose name is Canary audio which does not have a relation with the product and they told that the dac was not their product)
