Has a Denon 1500 R integrated amplifier. It has been in for a service due to a bad soldering, and my service man discovered a white coating or oxide on some capacitors on the PCB. Can almost resemble white flour or sugar? Has anyone seen anything like this before? Thank you in advance!

Just guessing here, but maybe caused by aggressive contact cleaner spray used on the RCA connectors? Some of the sprays attack certain plastics.

I've seen it before too, can't remember on what but probably a big soulless AVR. Looks yummy but I didn't taste it 🙂

Not wax coating perchance? I've seen that on some old ceramic caps.
I would wipe them with a piece of cloth wetted in warm water, maybe with a tiny drop of dishwasher detergent added and not worry further.
This might be a long shot, but some surfaces, including some plastics, may be conducive to the growth of mold or fungi. Would explain the localization. If the unit was exposed to moist conditions, it might provide the right environment for their growth. Just saying it's an idea, not that it is likely.
It's factory original to me; all PP caps in the DCD-S10 series cd players have the same white powder on the surface.
Probably related to the PCB assembling process.
These are prime capacitors with copper leads; leave them as they are.
Or for anyone to demolish a Denon unit with these caps: salvage them !
