Wild Burrow Betsy L Speaker Design

Wild Burrow Betsy "L" Speaker Design

This is my design of a very successful Betsy open-baffle speaker design. I used Maple 3/4" plywood and cork backing. It sounds fantastic! don

I tested all combinations with an industrial megometer used for motor winding integrity before the final wiring you see. There is zero measurable difference to wire direct. Thank you for your interest, however.

Thanks! I like the Mogami cable. What I was inquiring about, and I didn't phrase it correctly, are the clips (female disconnects) that can attach to the + and - tabs on the speakers themselves. Someone thought it was a .205, another a .187. I'll have wiring from the amplifier coming into binding posts mounted on the rear of the baffle, then running from the inside binding post connections up to the speaker tabs. I'm trying to avoid buying a 'jumbo assortment' when I just need 4 of them! Thanks!

But, you must solder them after “pinching” shut, and add small diameter heat shrink to the wires (be sure to cut and slide the heat shrink up the wire before you solder).

I modified my original Betsy OB speaker with the addition of a 12" Eminence-A Woofer. This is the construction file. However, I would make 2 changes to it if anyone wants to replicate:
1) Make the Front panel "full length" such that it is effectively 3/4" longer covering the bottom board.
2) use "“Titebond Original” for sealing edges (Lowes) … “not Liquid Nails”
Please note that after building a similar OB with 15" Lii Song F15 speakers/drivers, and much listening, I must say that this Betsy with 12" woofer is much better in total sound.
If you have any questions or want to discuss, please call me at 505/603-7842. Don
