My 12PE32's surround has stiffened raising fs ~1.5 octaves. What's a good way to get the surround supple again?

meant a half octave rise -tired

I've seen a thread where someone used acetone to remove the old sealant - is that the way you folks do it?
Are there alternative ways to get a hardened surround supple again ?

What's a good new sealant that's not too expensive?

This looks like a modern PA with triple roll surround.
For how long was it stored and unused?
Was it ever broken in? And how was it stored? Dry/wet, hot/cold?
From the specs it look like a mid bass though and recommended high passed at 85H due to short xmax.

Its been sitting on a shelf(no box) in my old house without cooling or heating since early 2019 and had very little play. It must have been 10 years since purchased new. I've seen half-octave upwards shifts also with Audio Nirvana Super 8 - 10 and some Peavey speakers.. I'd like to try getting the surround supple again - then re-seal. It might work as is in a little horn - but I'd rather try to get it closer to spec. If it comply - then I'll grab a Pule PYM1298 (Eminence built to Kappa 12A spec - a more rugged driver overall than 12PE32)
