hello all,
I am looking for an amp suitable for a pair of DIY Mark audio full range MAOP 10.2
but which can also drive another pair of speakers in the future.
Evereybody have his opinion some advise lamp amp other d class, other SS or to use lamp preamp i have not enough experience to choose
i have read ASR reviews there many good amps for affordable price but it don't tell how it sound..
actually i use a NAD C356BEE a computer and a sound card as DAC, my room is quite big 55m² normally one pair of MAOP will be not enough but i will start like that and i will see. normally it's one of the best full range on the market wich permit to listen pleinty of details and with quite good virtualization.
i see there is many construction here, what can you advise me?
brgds
Pierrick

Having sold NAD, including the 356BEE, I would say they are quite good for a relatively inexpensive retail integrated. That being said it is not in the same Universe as Papa's amps. As for the best option I'll leave that to those with more experience.
I have been selling audio for over 40 years, and am well acquainted with the NAD C356BEE. In my stereo system at home I have a Naim Supernait 3 w/ HiCapDr power supply upgrade, powering Revel F226Bes. A while back I built a couple of the ACA Minis and powered my Revels with one using a Bluesound Node to drive it. I am champing at the bit waitng for the F5M, which should drive the Revels and potential other speakers better. That being said the ACA Mini, about $140, was not embarrassed in place of the Naim. Matter of fact I used that combo for about 1 month before putting the Naim back.
I am also waiting for the F5m kits to show up.
In the meantime I am currently enjoying my recent Aleph J build, using the Aleph J SS boards prepared with some special components.
Prior to this I built a few F6 variations, using the F6 Diamond boards that have been discussed in the F6 Revisited thread. The F6 is another wonderful sounding amp, and is special with the right components. I also have an Aleph J with the original boards from the store w/ matched FETs.
The M2x is another amp that has been great to listen to.
My preamp is a Naim NAC82 with a dual HiCapDR upgrade. Streaming DAC is the Naim NDX with the XPS upgrade. The Nelson Pass amps sound great with the Naim front end.
Go ahead and build something; the F5m will be waiting for you when you get back around to it. 😉

The Mark Audio being just about the most neutral FR drivers I know, they will tolerate a lot of the
idiosyncrasies of low power amps. They do a good job with anything of mine, and the F5m is a
quite appropriate and inexpensive example.

Hmmm... have you tried the F5m kit thread?? The first post includes a link to Nelson's pdf R1 that answered all your questions.
