In my search for a powerful FR driver I have come across 'this'
How do you guys feel about the potential for this driver to behave well and flatten response using DSP and 150wrms @4R of power in something like a 15L ported tuned to around 150hz?
There are also smaller units in this series
Thanks and regards
Randy

Well, it calcs a 97.76 dB eff., so basic specs (Fs, Vas, Qes) appear to be 'close enough', which usually implies a decent product, though a 1.5" dia. VC = 275 W RMS seems a bit optimistic, but I'm way out of date on such things, so curious what the current status quo is.
n0 = (9.7822 * 10-10 * Vas * Fs3) / Qes
n0 above is a ratio, not a percentage. To make it a percentage multiply by 100.
Vas is in liters.
Fs in Hz.
SPL @ 1W/1m = 112.2 + 10 * log(n0)

pas un gros risque...

It is not a full range speaker. Datasheet says that it is midrange, and the frequency range confirms it. It has some issues (-10dB dips) at 350Hz and 800Hz, and could roughly be used up to 5kHz (for PA). On the lower end of the range I wouldn't use it below 200-250Hz with a 2nd order crossover. RMS is quite optimistic for a 38mm voice coil. No recording of the frequency range at 30 and 60 degrees is attached, it may not be usable above a couple of kHz. That cannot be fixed with DSP.In my search for a powerful FR driver I have come across 'this'

Its very difficult for me to make a call on this. 16khz extension is plenty for my needs but not point if it is a poor quality coverage. Just under a local $100 each. Is it promising enough to take a chance to experiment with DSP to flatten to about 100db output at around 3m? Expensive gamble that could pay off big time or sink a couple of hundred that could be used to buy parts to investigate a DML option instead
You can correct it with DSP to work at high frequencies, but it will be very focused on those frequencies, like a beacon. And if there is breakup mode, you probably won't be able to listen to it for long. There is also a huge dip at 15k. I do not recommend that driver without crossover and tweeter.
