Dose any one have an idea what might cause this? the problem started on the right channel but now it sometimes it both channels. i had it checked out 2 years ago and was told it was all original and working as it was intended. i was also wondering if anyone knew who would have quality parts for it. I love this amp it sounds amazing with the 28k pre amp and my mac 2100 by amping my kef speakers.
Does it start to work again when you temporarily turn up the volume?
It sounds like a loose contact somewhere. The movements of switches, potmeters, relays and transformers that are soldered to printed circuit boards sometimes damage the solder, the contacts inside potmeters and switches can get dirty.

check if the speaker protection relay contacts are dirty.
Ive bought used aragon 4004 few years ago with similar issue and cleaning the relay contact solve this.
