i have an old speaker that has Dynaudio D-76 there. Is HiVi midrange a direct replacement?
Thank!
Thank!
The responses are different enough that I would say no and that it needs a new crossover design for best results. However, if you just want something that works and fits the cutout, these may fit the bill.
I just do a search online, and it might require a minor change in crossover. But those inmates claimed that the HiVi performs better than the Dynaudio unit.
I'm not sure whether the HiVi is better but it makes sense to make small changes if those HiVi units are improved over the Dynaudio unit as they claimed. Improvement means difficult.

Which HiVi units are equivalent or replacement if below?
Dynaudio D-76/AF Mid Unit
Dynaudio 24W-100-08 Bass Unit
Dynaudio D-76/AF Mid Unit
Dynaudio 24W-100-08 Bass Unit
My friend has a speaker damaged by DC offset. No particular reason, just HiVi is very easy to source.
Over here Dynaudio still has a replacement service. You can’t exchange them for Hivi units without sacrificing big time on sound quality.
For the dome mid the DM-7500 with some added resistance.
Bass driver D8.8 though it’s very slightly less efficient in the intended pass-band.

Most of your difference will be manageable with the crossover, if the drivers have similar characteristics and are being used properly. I wouldn't let it stop me going forward with it.and it might require a minor change in crossover. But those inmates claimed that the HiVi performs better than the Dynaudio unit.
Would you please send me I do about the exchange program 🙏Over here Dynaudio still has a replacement service. You can’t exchange them for Hivi units without sacrificing big time on sound quality.

Rumour has it that Audio Technology has drivers that can be replaced the Dynaudio models? Is that true?
I think i have read somewhere that they have made dynaudio 21w54 replacement (or almost replacement) drivers.
But i think not other models.

Midbass drivers - yes, they can design and produce just about any feasible driver you want. Note: the cone material is quite a bit better than (past) Dynaudio or HiVi drivers produce.Rumour has it that Audio Technology has drivers that can be replaced the Dynaudio models? Is that true?
Problem is: they are likely to be more expensive than Dynaudio replacements.
Morel’s CAW 938 might also be viable except for the fact it’s less efficient than the HiVi.
Morel MW 266 is a good replacement option for the 24W drive units family , and its cost (now 166 bucks) at PE is relatively acceptable.
My friend has sent a request to Audio Technology and here is their response:
."We do build drivers – also drivers that can replace the original drivers, but not without modifying both cabinet as well as cross over."
So we assume the physical size if the AT driver is very large, is it?

How much Morel MW 266 better than the Dynaudio 24W?
Does it require to modify the cabinet? Other holes is ok.
What about crossover?
