Hi, I'll be putting together a couple of 3886 amplifiers (or something similar) and require chassis for them. I already have suitable heatsinks and transformers. Sizewise? Hmmm, difficult to tell at this point. But, regular rack mount width is a good start. If you're in Canada and you have some no longer needed boxes to be rid of drop me a PM.... tnxs.

@e_fortier is right. Those are good utilitarian chassis for VERY low prices. I built my Modulus86 amp with one of them.
Steel probably will be around 1/32" thick.
Aluminum will probably be around 1/16" thick.

Hmmm, ok thanks for the input. I'm just thinking about sheet flex for a heavy transformer. No response in the PM box. We'll just have to wait and see.
HiFi2000 chassis (some sold at diyAudio, shipped from USA) have a 1.5mm (1/16") steel baseplate for heavy parts.

Really nice chassis Ray. Unfortunately, for $700+ I would like to build two complete amplifiers with some celebration money left over. The Galaxy ones are closer to acceptable pricing but not the correct dimensions

Chassis have increased in price a lot during the past few years. But for low cost these are by far the best.
You supply your own heat sinks and thicker internal baseplate, a cheap, simple steel rectangle.

Get one(new never used) but shipping will cost as much as the rack mount itself .
