Dayton Epique E180 stored energy

The Epique E180HE data sheet has a waterfall.
There seems to be a couple of stored energy issues at 800 and 1600 or so.
Is this audible - and if so, how?
Are they actually any good as midwoofers, ignoring the ability to bully them into low frequency gymnastics?

I can't tell you if it's audible, but I find the measured performance in the midrange underwhelming for the price. See the comparison here:

I would personally rather use the Anarchy 7" or the Misco BN 7" XBL^2 drivers for similar or better performance at a lower price point. That does not mean the Epique is a bad driver, mind you, it's quite impressive. Just not best value, or what some early hype suggested it would be (budget purifi).

Not sure if this is what you're looking for, but you can see the voice coil measurements for both Misco drivers here:

They are not perfect measurement sets, but do have the benefit of being directly comparable to their measurements of the epique under similar conditions:

It may well be the case that dayton's better dealer network makes it a better choice in the UK. Personally, in that case, I think I'd still look to spend the $$$ for the epique on a nice 8" midwoofer (possibly even 2, for the price) with less stroke but comparable swept volume and lower distortion, but at that point, it's not such an apples-apples comparison anymore.
