Aikido Noval Stereo vs 9 pin dual mono

Placing my order for JB's Aikido line stage 9 pin version this weekend. I would appreciate inputs on the Noval stereo pcb vs the 9 pin dual mono boards? Are dual mono's adding complexity not worth the squeeze or not a big deal? Looks like the PS-21 is suggested for the stereo Noval board. What would I use as a PS from his site for the duals? Comments on his attenuator, power 3 position switch, input selection switch boards? Transformer recommendations for either of the above from folks who've built them? Thanks

Read product description would give the answer. I believe the mono is older version and the schematic al little bit different. If all you need is the stereo, then the 9 pin stereo pcb is better. I think the PS-21 is regulated PS that have 1 HV and 2 separate filaments. If you refer Tube Rectified PS or Tube Rectified PS regulated, there are many PCB on ebay The PS-Tube would work too but it's unregulated PS and only has 1 filament which you need to share for both channels.

I had a bad experience with Antek toroidal transformer on steel chassis, no matter where you place it. On aluminum chassis, you need to put the Antek at least 4" away from the tubes so there is no hum problem. For other type of transformers, it may work better. It's better to decide what type of PS you want before you can get the correct power transformer. Or just go with PS-21, then it's more easy.

I am using alps 100k potentiometer at max. volume without clipping.

The two big black caps, you can get 50uF 550v from mouser.

I only use 1 in/out so no need input selection.

Connect to tube amp with RCA without problem. However, you need audio transformer to convert RCA to XLR for SS amp, otherwise it's hum, This works great without problem.
