I've been thinking of building a Sony V-FET amplifier using two paralleled pairs of 2SK82/J28 as described by Papa Nelson in the '40th Anniversary Sony VFET Amplifier' article and at CES in 2014. Did anyone ever make PCBs for this amp? I know I'm about a decade late to this game... Thanks
The boards on the diyaudio store are for the later version of the amplifier, which was simplified to include a single 2SK82 paired with a single 2SJ28 per channel (as opposed to a pair of each for a total of 4VFETs / channel in the original article).
The 40th anniversary amp is a large balanced amp.
This is the non-balanced version using 4 vfets per channel: https://firstwatt.com/pdf/art_sony_vfet_pt2.pdf
For this, member Teabags had done a PCB set with separate front end and output boards using some connector joining the two.

Before you start chasing down boards, do you have the necessary Sony VFETs already? If not, you'll quickly find that they are not easy to come by. You may be able to source 2 of each eventually but the odds of finding 8 will be a challenge.
Yes, an excellent point. And you need 4 reasonably matched pairs, which is an even larger challenge.
