I have been doing some research on the 15" coaxials. Specifically those with a built in horn for the HF. My idea is to eventually replace the plastic horn with a wood biradial horn.
Anyways, so far it looks like these 3 are in the front runner.
Will be either a BR, or onken type of enclosure. Passive crossover initially.
I am looking for some input and also any additions to this list.
Thanks!!!!

Have you looked into the PAS cxl1580? This is supposedly the one used in the Urei 8 series studio monitors, which is another variant of the Altec 604. One can choose a suitable compression driver.
Why bother with anything other than a Tannoy Monitor Gold 15?
They are available and come with an excellent and proven crossover design and well documented cabinet designs .And they sound special.

I would suggest what’s more important or critical to the overall performance is that the coaxial woofer be limited to a passband response that begins only above 500hz. While sweep response plots showing woofer and HF driver are nice, the story becomes quite different if/when the woofer cone is playing bass and linear excursion is in motion.
