Hey Guys
Since it is getting almost impossible to find Elna Silmic anymore,
What caps have you found that are very similar that is a good replacement?
I like that smooth warm sound
Of those silmics .

I've had very good luck with the Panasonic FM series, measurably so. They are my go-to cap if the values are available, the range is limited.
I know this is an old thread, but, i figured it best not to make a new post.
I am in need of a 25uf 25v no-polar type cap for some amps I am working on. I am looking for a good sounding cap to use. most film caps are high voltage and too large to fit so I am looking for alternatives. what sounds good these days?

I would use these, but they don't come in 25uF though.

I'm thinking about re-capping an older NAD-C542 cd player, but it may be running a little hot on some of the parts on the PS side. I was told by someone that NAD had used transformers that were a little on the high side of voltage +/- 25V. Suggested I put a DC-DC buck converter running off the transformer. Problem is, not sure which wires I would use? Is there any members here that could give me some pointers? Thanks!
