I can calculate a Helmholtz trap with holes on the mh audio homepage.
But I would rather use slats than holes. But, the slat calculator is not logic to me.
Can I just use the percentage of perforation for slats instead? I would like to avoid drilling hundreds of holes

There is a good calculator at Acoustic Modelling which allows either holes or slots as a layer. Either way, you need to evenly distribute the openings.
