I have a tray of these (about 96 each) of these Motorola SJ5744-2 TO3 style transistors and can't find any info on them. Anybody got anything??? Thanks

Specs on many house numbers are protected under NDA, so it’s often quite difficult to track them down. Usually you have to find out what they went into originally, and reverse engineer it. Unless they went into something with cross references everywhere (ie, Peavey). They are almost always something they regularly make, just with some special screening (such as higher Vceo or gain, tightly matched vbe, etc). Where did you get them, any idea what they were for originally? Have you done any measurements (even just DMM diode checks which would tell you NPN, PNP or darlington), and are you willing to sacrifice one and have a look-see inside?
Do they show as PNP ?
if it is a specialized in house part number.
Could be 2N5744 which came in T0-66
but is more heavy duty T0-3
just a guess
