I am about to build a new set of subwoofers, based on either Faital 12PR320, or BMS 12ND630
Since, I will have a lot of room-gain, I was thinking about making it sealed, not ported.
I will have the possibility, to perform EQ, and I like the idea, of playing with REW, rather than fiffle with the ports.
My plan is to buold a 60 liter enclosure, realizing that EQ will be needed.
What are your thoughts, regarding a sealed anclosure?
Greetings from Denmark, Michael

have you bought the sub already ? why not start with a drover thats more suited to a sealed box
I prefer sealed too the port noise really bothered me on the last one I had

Michael,
The BMS 12ND630 would work fine in either ported or sealed, giving up about 6dB output at 30 Hz sealed vs ported in a 60 liter box.
A 6 dB level diference requiring four times the power, double the voltage, sounds about twice as loud in the 30Hz range.
You could build with ports included, and put plugs in them if you find you don't need the output.
If you don't need the output, sealed will sound a bit more accurate up to the driver's excursion limits.

The information is on the data sheet:

I just ordered a pair of BMS 12ND630 s to put in a Troels ATS4 base cab build.
These are ported however and getting rather expensive...
