I would like to do upgrade from 2SB649/2SD669 on my amp LJM L12-2. It's nice to do shopping on AliExpress, but ... I would prefer to get Toshiba TTA004B/TTC004B from mouser.com
I noticed 2SB649 has emitter to base voltage -5V, TTA004B has -6V, should I change some resistor or something? Does it matter? 😀

The difference in base-emitter breakdown shouldn't be an issue. I think your instinct to use Mouser is well placed.
I doubt any improvement, however. I question whether the experiment is worth the risk.

Perhaps improvement non, perhaps little, but I hope the sound quality will stay the same and the amp will stay stable. I've got 4 kinds of 2SB649/2SD669 from AliExpress and the look of transistors is not very professional. I'm wondering if there is some real quality control... This is why I want stick with genuine Toshiba replacements.
I like mouser, on Monday I do order, on Wednesday I have it here. USA to Europe. I love very fast Fedex delivery for free 😍

KSA1220 no longer active, and I haven’t seen any still for sale in stock either. Can you build an amp with only NPN drivers? Yeah, but NOT modern topologies. You can always make a VAS out of just the NPN but you’ll be using different drivers.
When the A1381 goes away you’ll be relegated to just a C3505 with a bootstrap. My guess is both go away at the same time, though. You’re already getting different hFE grades for NPN and PNP as it is. Only a matter of time.
My go to fave was the Sanyo C3902/A1507. I had to make a game time call on which set to do my lifetime buy with and that’s the one that made the cut. Let them quit making them ALL now, I won’t run out. I also have plenty of C5305/A3181, but they are the different hFE grade. I don’t give a damn as I usually use enhanced VAS’s where it matters.
