Diy cables, is this wire any good?

Hi all! My dad works for a German company and he had some grounding wire from a leftover job. This stuff is almost 1” wide and it is made of braided copper. It’s super high quality and it is also made by a German company. It is designed to ground large industrial printing presses.

I’m wondering if I can use them for any audio purposes. Maybe making speaker cables? I have to find a way to insulate them. Would these thin and wide braided cables be ok for audio purposes?

Yes, but cover it with insulating material, and terminate with lugs.
Keep the two wires of each channel close together, without shorting to each other.

Also the wires cannot touch other metal objects, especially the chassis of the electronics,
which could short out the amplifier.

I'd have thought its too much hassle to add insulation (not that heat-shrink tubing isn't very tough, and will buckle the braid and end up rather stiff and ugly perhaps), and bare copper will tarnish over time. There's a reason electrical wire comes pre-tinned and pre-insulated!
