Just curious if anyone can recommend a reputable repair facility for old school Xtant Amps? I have a 1001DX and 2200IX that I bought new in the 90’s when I competed. They have been sitting for many years and now I’d like to knock the dust off but when I bench tested the 2200 one channel didn’t work and the fan didn’t start up despite getting hot to the point of something screeching from the board. After I got it unhooked I found my deck now excretes terrible ground noise and the channel on my table amp that I had Y’d into doesn’t work anymore. I grounded the rca to the housing of the head unit and and that stopped the ground noise but that’s not okay with me. I’m assuming the Xtant had a short and it fed back into my table amp and favorite head unit causing all the damage. Can anyone confirm my suspicions and rather than attempt to power up the 1001 I’d like to send them both off to be fixed and checked out by someone that knows what they are doing as I obviously don’t. I can build, install, wire, and make them loud and pretty but I have no business near a board, especially with a soldering tip.
