Hello everyone,
I am an undergraduate student, not related to audio. I am planning to build a sub with 2 passive radiators, I am on the look for recommendations on the subwoofer driver, as mentioned being a student, my budget for the driver is 120 dollars average. I currently have Boreas BR02's as my speakers which reach approx. 51Hz as low. I would like also recommendations, considering the driver recommended, in the box size (I don't want another bed-side table). Also considering the driver recommended, I would gladly take other ideas for ported or other, in the case it is thought to be better.
Thank you for reading.

Overall good concept using 2 passive radiators
Good rule of thumb for low distortion with passive radiator
is radiator SD to be 2x larger than driver SD
Far as being on budget.
Passive radiator almost doubles cost
Since the cost of good predictable radiators which weight can be added too
carry extra cost.
So straight forward Reflex Box is easier on the wallet.
Just use common QB3 or BB4 / C4 alignments.
from most typical free simulators.
First confused but assuming thread title suggest
your are looking for driver suggestions 6 inches to 10 inches ?
Although a budget speaker.
Dont let cost fool you.
GRS makes some impressive subs with large magnet.
Some with additional venting for spider.
I like anything from " HE " series from GRS
I suggest 8"
GRS-8SW-4HE
or Suggest 10"
GRS-10SW-4HE
or 12"
GRS-12SW-4HE
12" has massive magnet and vented spider.
friendly to small box.
For passive radiators the Dayton designer series are easily obtainable
and provide good data for proper modeling

Thank you,
I understand where you come from with the budget. My plan is to spend approximately the same amount in each of the parts. Not that overall. This will be a summer build, which I will be full-time working so the idea is to spend no more than £400 which would add up to 500 US Dollars. That’s my cap overall.
About passive radiators, from what I’ve seen, the radiators need to pair the Xmax of the subwoofer. Now my question is, do I need 2 passive radiators that equal the Xmax? Or the sum of both Xmaxes make the same as the Sub? I would love an explanation with numbers.
