has anyone tried this driver and knows if the coaxialy mounted tweeter horn is better designed then eminences similar offering (12cx) ?

It is sold without a compression driver. Lots of options to go with...
Have you searched PE forum? https://techtalk.parts-express.com/

yes, it is very similar to eminence 12cx in that way, it even looks a bit like 12cx, but it seems to need an even bigger box then 12cx so i have ruled them out for now. i hope they will come in a more interesting 10" size too.
i have googled the net with no success.

I built these over the break.
I have no experience wit the 12cx to compare.
PCX-12-8 with SB Audience ROSSO-34CDN-PK.
From that thread you can see I had a time with learning how to tune with using a CD and other technical issues.
Now that they are all broken in and re tuned they have a very tight and detailed mids (all all volumes). AT home listening (and party) levels their detail is outstanding. The CD's are in another tertiary all together as far as detail goes (symbols on Oscar Peterson's Midnight Train opening track sound real and not like a hiss). The only caveat to the SQ/balance of these is the overall directivity of the HF. "80* WG" on the PCX datasheet sounds ok but it has lots of fall off.
2 things I would change if doing again:
1. add a bit more volume on the enclosures. (or try going ported).
2. go to a larger CD (ROSSO 44 or 65) for better and lower frequency response. it hasnt been a limitation as I can still cross in the mid-high teens kHz. With the efficiency of the CD, excursion/power will never be an issue in domestic indoor application.

nice! how did you solve the adaptor issue, sb audience cd's are not screw-ons, only bolt-ons? have you also considered to match flares between horn and cd?
the horn on the pxc12 looks a both good and bad, the horn extends beyond the voice coil former of the woofer but has screw holes in the horn flares instead, compared to eminence 12cx.

No adapter is needed the ""N" in the *-CDN, part numbers appear to indicate the screw on is part of the assembly. Looking again at the SB offerings, the 34 seems like a special deal with the screw mounts. Looking at the CD driver it is part of the assembly and not an adapter that's screwed on. Bolt on adapter flanges are included with the CD's.

Measuring the screw mount depth to the dayton the foam disc on the end of the CD just touches the bottom of the bore. How and what degree of flare matching is otherwise how it lands. In all measured response charts there is a hi-Q suck-out around 7kHz. Its suspected that this is an effect of the horn geometry or interface geometry.
Something that I wonder if is a possibility would be to remove the dust cap and existing horn and replace with a 3d printed wave guide/horn for better dispersion.

interesting, by looking at this pic from dayton audio it sure looks like the small horn can be removed
Thats odd they would put in a small WG like that and not make a smooth transition from the pole piece to the cone opening at the VC.
The neo version Eminence coax drivers use the pole piece as part of the WG entry. I'm dabbling with a similar situation, just using an Eminence KL3012CX and various bolt on CDs with a custom machined screw on adapter.
