I am looking for a vintage amp or a vintage looking chassis for a project lamp for my listening room. Must be not worth for restoration as an amp as I will gut it.
Yes I said that, I want to make a "lamplifier". I have a couple of Manley Snappers that have a cool glow but need a bit more illumination for certain listening times.
I'm hopping to build a lamp with some edison style bulbs (dimmable, wifi controlled) to illuminate the front of the room.
I'm thinking of using the knobs for switch and dimmer (volume).
Have tried eBay but have not found anything I like.

Cool idea!
I would think any of the mid-level receivers or integrated amps from the major manufacturers during the 70s would make for an interesting lamp. Prices are out of control for working examples, but you may be able to find something if you take your time scouring eBay, craigslist, shopgoodwill, local thrift shops, etc.
Stand alone vintage tuners would work great, now that I think about it. They would be less involved to dismantle, lighter, and are less sought after. The big glass front panels could shine a lot of light outward, and the chassis tops could be modified to let more light out.
