I’m rebuilding an 8K amp .
The outputs are drivers survived .
The only damage I see is the power supply fets and drivers .
All the gate resistors for the fets are within tolorance I checked them at room temp I did not hear them nor cool them to see if the drifted out of tolorance .
Wondering is it a good practice to replace the gate resistors when replacing the fets and drivers ?
Also is there anything else that should be replaced when I’m in there in the power supply section since some parts get stressed when the fets blow .
I’m asking this since this amp is going back into a competition vehicle and need it to be reliable.

Replace them if you're concerned about them.
The ground connections on the drivers sometimes burn and you can get intermittent connections which can cause the amp to fail.

A tip which helps with indexing/searching for info on the forum:
Add the brand name and model of the amp you want repair info about in the title.

The original drivers are A1275 and C3228 for the power supply .
I don’t have enough bd139/140 on hand .
Would the mje171/81 or the mje172/182 work as replacements since I have both on hand
This 8K amp is the same design as all the other clones out there using these drivers /fets

What would cause what?
This appears to be the resistor that connects the primary and secondary grounds.

Since I’m ordering new fets for the amp I might as well spend a few cents and just replace it .
This is a metal film resistor correct ?
This is a metal film resistor correct ?
I think so but the metal film and metal oxide film are very similar in appearance. What's important is that the resistor has a ceramic outer coating which makes them flameproof/resistant.
