pentachord loudspeaker

Hi all, just wondering if I could have any information on these speakers as I can’t find much on the Internet, I assume the bottom stand parts have a base unit in them.

thanks Lee.

The Pentachord speakers used Bandor drivers, so related to Jordan inasmuch as Doreen was Ted Jordan's [ex]wife. The Pentacolumn was designed by Dr. Oliver Brooke & had a 100mm internal LF unit with the upper pair of 50mm widebands wired in series; IIRC the [active] crossover was about 100Hz or just under. The now-defunct Hi-Fi World magazine reviewed them back in '99, although I don't remember if they took any measurements or if it was purely subjective.

Okay, so thanks for your replies, these were passed to me through the Family so I’m probably going to advertise them as I already own a set of klipsch forte iv and I doubt they will compete with them. So the next question is are they worth anything? What should I advertise them for?

Pretty equipment.

Honestly, those pentacords probably do some things extremely well, just not high volume nor rock and roll.
Or as and sit really close, just get your ears exactly the height as between the 2 drivers.
Pricing is difficult as shipping is a killer these days.

I push for multiple loudspeakers now.
Use each for their strengths, don't compromise.

Actually, post this over on the full range forum here.
They will get a kick out of seeing them, I did.

The smaller driver must be the key then.........

On my "derringer", dual 4" tang band w4-1320's having a 5" frame, under over like the pentachord, I leveled it with pennies sitting 10' away.

And my 4 x tg9 was fine, so long as you stayed within the vertical height of the bottom to the top driver.
