I'm thinking of getting sourcing the Vin for the the voltage regulator (example: 7805 or something more recent) on the first cap after the diodes or at the +12V terminal.

- +/-12V is for the analog section
- +5V is for the digital section
If the 12v section has excess current to be used for the 5V, yes, go ahead.
Depending on how much current your digital supply needs, you might consider a buck regulator for the +5V.
