Hi all, i would love to hear a decware sound in my system, therefore im looking for a used decware zen diy clone or a used original to buy.

You can do better, the Zen is decent but nor special. And way overpriced.
You should maybe check with Bas to see if any of his prolific output of tube amplifiers is spare.

Thank you Dave, I wished I heard the Zen for myself so I could reply ;-) Maybe I should check with Bas, thank you for the advice. a fair amount of people seem te value it very much though. Hope I can get a listen somewhere!

My partner started with a Zen cone (directly compared to a real one), and then thru 7 iterations improved on it.

Hi Bas! Appreciate your reply! I tried to send you a PM. I can't find the option maybe its becouse i dont have enough forum posts yet... can you send me a PM Maybe?Feel free to contact me. I could whip up a zen clone.
Walter
that sounds like a very nice project. I dont have any real diy experience as of now. But the Zen amp looks like a great start point with simple circuitry. My partner started with a Zen cone (directly compared to a real one), and then thru 7 iterations improved on it.

Also, thank you very much for bringing me in contact with Bas.
I have one and love it, not sure I am willing to part with it just yet but if you're still interested I'd consider it. I also have an original CSP preamp from deware as well I enjoy on occasion too if you want a full setup with preamp.
Thank you for the reply. Im currently in contact with Bas, but yes i'm interested. very cool you also have the preamp! If you want please send me a pm, with some info.

Hi Dave, Do you have a schematic perhaps? I'm now interested to build one to compare with the RH84.My partner started with a Zen cone (directly compared to a real one), and then thru 7 iterations improved on it.

i think i found them on decware site. https://www.decwareproducts.com/se84ufo its on the bottom of the pageHi Dave, Do you have a schematic perhaps? I'm now interested to build one to compare with the RH84.
Hi Walter, That one is without values. But I've found one with values...on this forum. However I was curious what Dave's friend's schematic looked like after 7 changes.
lol Bas thanks for your feedback 😆 Im also very curious for that. I would be very interested to built one as well, once i get some practice.
ah but this isnt the el84ufo unfortunately. though i think they dont differ so much exept for higher grade components.
the impendance switch on the new ufo model seems to have an improvement though. .
Also apparently there's a mod that takes the potentiometer out of the circuitry.

You can do it! Just start by buying a soldering iron, some wire and solder...twist wires together and solder.
They essentially don't differ indeed. All changes from the original one are trivial and serve mostly as a marketing exercise. The essence is a 6n1p with 47k plate load and SV83 with a common cathode resistor.ah but this isnt the el84ufo unfortunately. though i think they dont differ so much exept for higher grade components.
