Yes, I have seen this video 100 times, everything is different for new ones, there will not be a coil in the gap differently, let's say above or below the gap.
I wouldnt use the technique in that video, wrapping the VC leads around the terminals like that. Main reason is not having any slack on the leads, making it even worse (possibly fracturing the leads) when tightening back down the face plate. I wish people would take the time to do things the right way and not spread the misinformation around on top of it.
The new VC asys from Morel appear to be made to tighter tolerances. The old versions were a pain to repair properly (not the way shown in that video).The MDT30 is one my favorite soft domes (PMC uses it too) along with the horn loaded CAT378. The drawback of these tweeters is the VC alignment shifts over time and can cause the VC to rub. The problem is much worse when using them in a hot climate (in a car) or pushing them hard with alot of power (heating up the suspension).
