Hello again,
I have been using the effects on the allen and heath wz3 16.2, we have a behringer fx2000 processor and wanting to use it. Does anyone have experience using these to hook up. If so id appriciate some tips please. Like cable to use, i seen on the manual that i can put it through the Aux 5 or into the insert channel but thinking it would only do that single channel. Any tips

You could do it either way, just make sure you've got a way of bypassing it for talking in-between songs. What sounds good for singing can often result in a difficult-to-understand spoken sound.

well for me first and foremost would be whether or not your PA is stereo or mono mains mix.
i would use Aux 5 as the send and return it to whichever one of the 1 to 4 Stereo returns that suits your fancy.
does your console still have the original configuration? (Aux 5 is post fader)

Yes to all the above and +100 on muting the FX return in between songs!
As far as FX go what can sound good, neat, interesting, ect. on part of one song if over used can start to sound distracting is used all night, too heavy on all songs.

well if the soundman is asleep at the wheel with managing FX's in the mix then what do you expect....and yup sometimes that chore comes down to a musician that is performing at the moment so some means of muting bypassing is manditory,no?
With the Mix Wiz you have a foot switch jack that will mute the internal FX and also have it trigger a shock collar on the sleeping soundman!well if the soundman is asleep at the wheel with managing FX's in the mix then what do you expect....and yup sometimes that chore comes down to a musician that is performing at the moment so some means of muting bypassing is manditory,no?
Thank you again for the tips there. We have the studiomaster VSM. Can this be set up the same way instead of the behringer FX2000, we tried this before basically mic to VSM and to the singers channel on the desk and was just a pain, getting feedback, hum when not in use all round pain. Am i right in saying this is like a preamp and is it basically amplify an amplifier?
the Studiomaster VMS imho would be of dubious value applied to an aux on a vocal channel insert different ball game..
this is the unit in question?

i've not used these personally but i would say that without access to the gate and comp parameters it's of limited use, but would be better than no comp at all.
Last time we used it the fader level of the singer was way down compared to the rest of the vials on the desk and was always a hum and easy feedback
and was the level selector for the balanced output set correctly?
Hey, it was basically mic to vsm and out the back to xlr input. Was always issues with it, would like to try again and get it set right
Did you have the output level switch set to mic level?
Keep in mind when you put some thing like that in series with the vocal mic input everything, mains, monitors, ect. all have the same processing applied to it for better or worse, more often than not for the worst.
