Hi All,
I decided to try my hand at Amp Repair as a hobby. Just picked up a Hafler SE240 that has a blown channel. Took a look. MOSFETs are definitely fried. Going to continue diagnosing the other components. My question is that its using 2SJ161/2SK1057 pairs that don't seem readily available. I poked around the typical sites and all I see are China knock offs. Is there any reputable place in particular that I might be able to source the components... Thanks for you help.

2SK1058 / 2SJ162 not easier to find ?
Exicons not direct replacements and needs rebiasing, etc.

Good luck finding genuine parts. They haven't been made for years. The Exicons are current parts and are readily available.2SK1058 / 2SJ162 not easier to find ?
Sure, but not plug and play.
If you know how to adjust the circuit, you can use the Exicons in place.
And the distortion spectrum will also change.

I don't. Just starting out. But it would be a fun project to push myself to figure it out. LOL! I bought a broken Hafler SE240 for $50.00 to figure it out. Should be fun.Sure, but not plug and play.
