I would want to buy a hifi class D amplifier.

Dear friends,
I would like to buy a stereo class D amplifier but of high quality.
I have big speakers (Paradigm F95) and I saw many people selling ICE Power module amplifier, HiperX, TPA3255, etc.
I am not a professional as you, I just want a 150X2 amplifier that is good.
I have an excellent DAC and would like to have an excellent amplifier (not too expensive, but good one).

I have a Denafrips Thallo amplifier, which I love and has a palpable sound but with the new Gustard R26, it sound harsh.
I tried a TPA 3255 that I bought at Aliexpress with linear power supply but it lacks fidelity and feel that he doesn't have hair, it's like there is not much wide soundstage as the Thallo.
Can anyone suggest which amplifier has a good value for money with good meaty sound?

I'm talking not about a kit but about a working amplifier.

Thank you very much!
Ilan.

Hi,
For a cheap amplifier which is class D, you can select from Nord Acoustics UK. They essentially use the COTS class D amplifier modules with SMPS etc., placed in a nice enclosure.

https://www.nordacoustics.co.uk/

They offer different opamps to provide a subjective sound with the Hypex module based amplifiers.

The stereo amplifiers start from about £1.4k.

With regards to a "meaty" sound, you are asking for a subjective impression, so others may be able to help, but from forum responses i have read, the "sound" really is a personal taste. So maybe discuss with others what you like sound wise, and find someone who has similar "ears" as you so you won't be disappointed in the sound.

Regards,
Shadders.

Thank you very much. There are many amplifiers. Is there one that you suggest?

I use this one and the manufacturer recommended power supply. I highly recommend it, especially considering the price.

Thank you Mike.
The manufacturer wrote that is best for 4ohm.
I also need a case, connectors, power supply, etc, so I will start to build myself a new amplifier after I spent a lot with the TPA3255.
The sound of the TPA is nice but is definitely far away of hifi...

Hi,
If you did not like the sound of the TPA3255, then you may not like the sound of class D. From the reports i have seen on forums, they are lean sounding, but others state they have a very tight grip on the bass.

I would try forums such as hifiwigwam, or pinkfishmedia, to ask about the sounds of those amplifiers with the Hypex modules in them. Which one to recommends is dependent on the responses you get from other forum members. Sorry can't help any more.

Shadders.

I purchased a couple of these and feel the quality is excellent and Eric has been very prompt with shipping. I used these with my Roon endpoints and feel the are a great unit. https://www.diyaudio.com/community/threads/2x150w-amp-module-for-sale.388868/page-23#post-7226274
I plan to purchase his FFA003 350w mono blocks when they become available.

Thank you bill.
I cannot understand if those units are equal to the TPA3255 or something similar. Also, they don't sell a build amplifier.
From the things I read and saw on many forums, I think that people are right - If I want good sound I need to pay, and pay a lot...
I think that at the end, I will need to go to the Purifi variation...

Why Purifi ? Because they charge the most Mola Mola? Why do you think you deserve a great amp ?
Because it's cheaper than the NC1200 and I read in some forums that the Boxem and other amplifiers sounds great.
I really don't know.
I have a TPA3255 here that lacks details and excitement, although it's a class D amplifier.
My Denafrips Thallo sound much, much better than the TPA.
