Anyone noticing how discrete parts prices are rocketing upwards... feels like just yesterday (well 2007) that the MJ21193/4/5/6 could be had for less than $2 a piece. Now on Mouser etc they are over $10 Each !!! Even the reasonably priced MJL1302 are over $5 now... this is making the hobby a lot more expensive for larger builds...
And what are the causes? The war? The pandemia (covid)? Here in Argentina goods prices grow up because internal problems from 80 years ago.

This is old news. There have been a couple of threads here recently of people complaining about prices and availability of parts.

Here in the US, the prices did not go up as fast as Latin America... they would go up by 3-7% on these discretes. However post Trump (Covid plus tarrifs plus shortages plus factories closing down plus less millennials interested in higher end gear with discrete parts) these are an unfortunate reality... its killing us DIYers..And what are the causes? Here in Argentina, during such 8 decades, we lost 13 (thirteen) zeroes from our currency to the USD. And actually our highest denomination paper (1000AR$) equal less than 3 USD. Again, 1 actual AR$= 10,000,000,000,000 (10E+13) peso of 80 years ago. So 3% in a year is a joke here. We actually have such a value each 15 days or 7% a month, according to official data. In the street, double this value.
