Sealed stand mount rethink.

I made some small sealed box stand mount speakers with Markaudio CHN40 drivers for my PC and they turned out great, but I'm toying with the idea of making a new box for the drivers which would improve the bass and not require stands. I have a plan for the box as file but wondered if I could reduce the height to 420mm, and if so what other changes would be required like port slot size. Thank you in advance, just feeling my way at the moment.

It's not quite as simple as that I'm afraid; losing the thick end of a third of the length & volume would mean a complete new design from scratch as these series-cascade designs use a specific alignment I created.
I thought that might be the case, is there a calculator I could use to design a new box from the driver specs I already have. Even a simpler design but I want to achieve a 420mm height or there about.

So may of Scott’s sketches i haven’t collected.

Given theh effort Scott did to shorten the height (the 2 sideways dividers increase the line length further).

The CHN40 should be able to reach about as low as CHN50, but with a significant decrease in sensitivity. I have not played with it — except for drawing a circular array of 6 of them with a teeter in the middle so Scott could play with a novrl 3-way. Sealed it is not goingto go really low.

You might consider a WAW instead, and take advantage of the box you have already built.

Thank you for the reply. The sealed units I have are working better than I dreamed in a near field/desk position, but as this design has a option of a 18mm top mounted port which changes the Fb from142Hz to 72Hz would it change the fast nature of the speaker a lot if I fitted one. There seems to be designs for slot vented and compact mass loaded boxes but nothing around the 400mm height. Sorry for being brain dead but what is WAW.
