What a fishy mess.
I wonder if it was made of that kind of glass that can explode?
These guys also do capacitors as well but for this thread it is the explosive glass.

Very large glass tank likely taken out by temperature swings.
Guessing that hotel will never get rid of the dead fish smell.

Wonderful clip from the architect on TV, when it was built saying it was indestructible, even a bullet wouldn't break it. Titanic style hubris....
The aquarium was acrylic glass from Reynolds Polymer Technology - 20 cm (7.87") thick
The silicone seals were renewed last summer.

Nothing like long term and stress testing. Interesting to see the maths and tests determining the material thickness. How’s the insurance policy going to work out? 🙂 Finger pointing begins.
More seal failures, I’ll put my $ on that.
I was working on cleaning and polishing the unions after the water sterilizer maintenance. Change uv lamp and clean quartz sleeve. I had a constant drip after last time I serviced. It finally it stopped after it calcified. This time cleaning the old Teflon tape fragments from threads, polish the mating surfaces on the brass unions=success, your amateur plumber. It’s probably a ~ $300 service call, put the $ saved towards the $1000 furnace oil bill . you win some, you lose some. Sometimes, some bigger than others 🙂
Happy holidays folks
