I have got myself a pair of speaker wires, a Mogami 2804...
That's a rather thin, stiff, expensive little diva of a beast. (I like it 😛 )
But I'm worried about it wearing out due to mechanical stress (plugging, weight, inadvertent pulls etc.), and am looking for tips about stress-relief techniques. As it's a coax with each "lead" (outer/inner ... core?) going into its own banana or spade connector, how can I mechanically improve these last few cm ?

The cable certainly looks stiff!
In order to take the weight off the terminals, you could dress the cable so that it arches upwards then back down towards the speaker terminals.
Alternatively, but probably not acceptably, you could screw a nylon loop clamp to the rear of your speaker enclosure to dress and support the cable.

A cable clamp is the best way. Maybe two of them, that stuff is really stiff.
Keep in mind that some power amplifiers do not take kindly to the high capacitance of coaxial speaker cables; they become high-powered ultrasonic oscillators.
Yes, many feedback amplifiers have a region of load capacitance (such as 0.1uF - 5uF for example)

The 2804 go with 590pF/m, BTW...
I'll try to reproduce that, as well as how other cables would measure...

I thought of something similar since quite some time, as many speaker-cables resemble intercontinental cables. I think those shouldn't just hang on their plugs, from the terminals. (Mechanically stressing an electric junction isn’t good practice, isn’t it?)
Looking at what the market offers (assembled cables), it seems nobody really cares about that.
I believe it could be done better, these clamps being a good direction.
Just found a video from a nice old man explainig how to make a stress-relief-knot on a coax-antenna-cable (for outdoor use I presume). Nice ham-radio-stuff... nourishing my OCD.

While some poorly designed legacy and boutique amplifiers can have problems with high total capacitance, modern amps will have zero problems with a coax cable of this type.
This comment doesn't help but I see the same issue with overly heavy power cords and their respective IEC sockets. I avoid IECs sometimes just for this reason.
Ah, yes, I'm quite happy with it. Although working with it is quite cumbersome:

I was careful, but not nearly as much as recommended.

I’ve assembled several speaker cables and interconnects over the years and find this is always very time consuming. Especially stripping the insulation away without damaging the conductor. Can be very challenging to get it just right.

Absolutely! But it’s just satisfying to have them done myself!
(I’m on interconnects right now, just as fiddly as speaker wires)
