Making your own vinyl - low quality and impractical

When I was much younger you could still buy disk cutters. Even "good" ones. The one I got used had a self-cut record of General Eisenhower. This was not too very long after ALL radio stations had busy recording departments, when AudioDisc blank disk ads filled magazines, even AUDIO.

There was a lot of science, art, skill, and knack in making records that were not shameful. I cut a few and realized I would have to drop my other hobbies and focus JUST on wax-cutting. (And the blanks were already hard to get; they didn't keep well.)

Of course today your PC can pre-limit and EQ diameter compensate defensively. If you start from a "digital master".
