G'day Guys,
Any recommendations as to thermal grease.
I have typically used Artic silver I had left over from building computers however I have seen it stated somewhere that this is not recomended for building amplifiers as it is conductive and could lead to a short.

This would be one of the cheapest alternatives available to me 'locally'.

It's rather expensive, but Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut will give about the lowest thermal resistance you can get from a non-conductive grease.
p.s. I'm pretty sure Arctic Silver isn't conductive. It's not as good as newer products though.

I would second Mr Evil's recommendation. I bought a big tube of Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut a couple of years ago (during a COVID-fueled period of audio frenzy) and am thrilled with its performance. Not cheap, but inexpensive when you consider the reduced risk of releasing the magic smoke.

I picked up some advanced thermal grease loaded with Boron Nitride - maybe it's similar stuff to the Grizzly (let me know if wrong). The usual thermal grease is loaded with Zinc Oxide.
I just checked at their web site - the stuff is loaded with Aluminum Oxide and Zinc Oxide - maybe the BN-loaded stuff will be better.

As for Boron Nitride - loaded thermal grease, Digi-Key has this stuff:

Thanks for the suggestions.
The Boron Nitride stuff looks like the right way to go.
Slightly cheaper at Mouser

This might be the best compromise as it's nonconductive: https://www.arctic.de/en/MX-4/ACTCP00007B
I for one use graphite grease for oiling heavy load machines ...very cheap, basically 1000 x cheaper than mx4 and good enough, just conductive, so great care with using it.

I actually ran out of NT-H2 so I bought this instead: http://en.sznuomi.com/chanpinzhongxin/daoreguizhi/66.html
