have you done a write up ?
Or could you please post pics / your opinion of it ?
Maybe I missed it..................
With the dispersion of the 2145 past 2khz, I figured that a vertical line array would work without high frequency eq..........
Up and down without much combing.
Now living with the horizontal dispersion of an 8", that is another thing.........................

I did find this on youtube of a 4 driver 2145 on open baffle....................
I assume that is the ec designs
a punishing 2 ohm load having 4 x 8ohm speakers in parallel.

hopkins mentioning on a 3-driver array, later down the page goes back to a 4 driver array.
"Listening far away from the speakers gives excellent results, but if you listen nearfield, it's better to have your eyes looking straight at the middle of the speakers. I understand that there are some frequency "cancelations" occurring as the sound from different speakers cross each other..... So at close range, you can either play with the backwards tilt of the speakers, or adjust your seating height. You have to experiment, and the reward is what sounds to my ears like a very even frequency response.... At close proximity, you have less room interaction, and the sound is remarkably "pure", for lack of a better word. It is wonderful! High level of transparency but totally smooth, and at the same time cohesive and foot tapping. I'm addicted."

Yes, it is indeed the ec designs baffle. And hence ideally it's used in combination with their Powerdac-S, which has a 2ohm output impedance.
The drivers work really well in this setup, very lineair frequency range, very good low and high extension, very low distortion.
As with any OB setup it takes some setting up to get it to work with the room, but once it clicked in my room, it was truly full range! So no subwoofer needed.
I agree with Hopkins' remark about listening in near field, you have to play with the tilt and toe-in of the panels to find a smooth FR at the listening position, maybe a little more so because of the vertical array. But once locked, it's a great design!
