Spherical tweeter/mid diaphragm

Why aren't there any? Is this impossible? Spherical magnets still have 2 poles. A pulsating tweeter and mid range would be the ultimate driver.

I always imagined a spherical source as a 4D sphere moving in and out of 3-space, somethign we have yet to get a handle on.

You can use a phase plug to create a spherical wavefront, a dome won't do this.

It only has to stretch enough to vibrate like a diaphragm. Some kind of soft closed cell foam molded into a sphere perhaps?

They are. But with according wavelengths being mostly bigger than the domes, that doesn’t really matter. Magnat did their infamous plasma tweeter too.
