Countless hours going over the layout changes in the RV as well as studying just about every speaker and sub design I can think of and keep coming up without a solid answer.
There will be build in book shelves on the back wall, ceiling mounted fold down TV, all audio gear located behind desk drawers except tube amp(if used) and maybe the DAC.
Two dedicated power circuits installed, dual shielded from PP to outlets, one just for sub amp(s).
Considered LX Mini, 521, H frame OB subs, as well as many other OB designs including Kantuck, Lii, etc..........
I have a couple ofl quality powered 15" subs and sealed ID 15's but want to build the subs into the back wall and have room for ported or sealed, would love to go with some high QTS drivers and OB but just not sure I could make the work in the space I have to deal with. I was using an Arc Audio Black 12 sealed until recently and it worked very well with some wall mounted KEF line array speakers but I want a real system and stereo subs(might end up mono but never ran stereo subs so want to give it a try, I have an Arc 1100.1 amp I could use instead of the class H or AB 120v amps I have) I will need to EQ the subs most likely though I prefer a totally analog system that will probably be in digital.
I own Edgarhorn Slimlines, fully upgraded and love them. Dr Edgar was my friend as well so really want to use them but they are quite large and rather close to the seating area, they like being out in the room more than I can afford to place them. I have a fully upgraded Baby Sophia 10 watt tube amp they pair with very well so want to use it as well, part of why looking into OB.
I also have various Seas drivers I really like as well but nothing for OB
I have considered just using the upper section of the Edgarhorn with the super tweeters installed in them and building sealed or ported midbass units so they can be much smaller.
I do not want box speakers, I like different things and built more than enough of them over the decades so just not interesting though will go that way if I must.
Any and all advice will be greatly appreciated, even if not nice at least good for a laugh🙂
Thanks,
Rick

I am looking into building a Class D amp(s) as well depending on the speakers I end up with as would be nice to conserve as much energy as we can so prepared for off grid living, eventually.
I have 4 or 5 new 30x6 (or 30x2 and 60x2) AB distribution amps designed by Robert Zeff (Zapco founder), I should probably just sell them and go D class though.

My wife would love a snail shaped full range with copper on at least part of the drivers, anybody seen plans, etc....? I would still want subs, she would as well, loves to have home dance parties and she can dance!
Wow,
From your postings. you don't want to leave the world behind you while RV'ing.
I took an entirely different approach with my 24 foot Class C.
Got two "bookshelf' psb Alpha P5's. Mounted them in the alcove above the driving compartment. Fed them with an "all purpose" Cocktail A12 music server/CD player/Amp (Has 1Tb of storage!) Had to make up a 12 to 24VDC converter to power it. Tried some other audio pieces like the Advent receiver but that also required making up a 12 to +/- 24VDC converter.
Yeah, this doesn't have the slam you seem to need BUT, we do a lot of boon-docking. AND AWAY from cell/internet service - BY CHOICE.
Just a Nice sounding system to play AND enjoy soothing music.
RV has the silly. stupid, teeny speakers installed on the top end of the outside, extendable awning. Haven't figured out a suitable alternative for them.
And don't forget that most all campgrounds have quiet hours - after 9P
Charles
Forgot to mention power draw. My RV has a single coach battery - with solar backup that doesn't really keep up with current draw when Booning. Spent mosty of last year as campground hosts and have free shore power, so no battery draw. With what you are comtemplating, you may need a separate battery just for the audio system. Then have fun keeping it charged.
Can suggest some other things regarding monitoring power draw.

We fell in love with the place we are at and sold our big toyhauler, still need to sell the 400HP Fiesta ST street/track/grocery getter I built to haul in it and staying here for a long time, especially since lost 3 summers + from mostly CA fires so worked every day for 6 months strait. I said I had only 1,000 hours to do, still do, how does that work? This is my end game project after years of building race cars, audio competition vehicles, many, many other hobbies, I want to leave this world with an incredible place for my lady as likely will happen far sooner than her.
We are not going anywhere soon, likely for a very long time, sold our dually as not really even big enough to haul this very heavy 5th wheel safely, no matter the grossly overrated current 1 ton trucks being so these days, 25,000 lbs is a lot of weight.
----------
I have two large 6v batteries now though going to do a solar system but not a big one, more batteries, less panels, backup mainly and never ran out of battery power yet though on the grid. Wood stove coming before next winter, none fit my needs so might just have to design and build it as well. We have two good AC units but only turned them on to test them in a long hot summer, very dry here, Evap working great!
-----------
Very cool being hosts!
That was part of our plan but this Covid BS caused some major changes, like closing a 25year successful business🙁
We have a 21ft 59 Boles Aero project as well though not sure when we will get to it, that will be for lighter travel and keep this rig on the River in Northern NV.

Magnepan MMG W or MC1 might be an option. On-walls that're made to fold away when not in use. I haven't heard them, but their form factor seems appropriate.

Unfortunately not very efficient but I am sure I would love the sound. Exception was at CES around 2005 with my then 18 year old son and their room was horrid, turned up so far massive distortion, asked them to turn it down and they said it was what was wanted to be heard, we got out of there asap. Went to see Dr Edgar's room Titans and Titan sub, very very modest system cost compared to all others were listened to and liked them the best by far.

I was already pretty sure OB, horns, etc just not going to cut it and I do not want a box speaker so looking into cool designs, need some style to go with great sound, TL, etc.......I have the room, just have to look into what type of design would be best.
I was going to suggest contacting planet10, but see you've done that. I did a quick google and found THIS. No idea how it sounds, but very unique look.My wife would love a snail shaped full range with copper on at least part of the drivers, anybody seen plans, etc....? We absolutely love that design but not something easy for a DIY project🙂
I am considering a folded TL with maybe build in subs, bi amped of course, something like a push pull setup so not inducing resonance into the RV, four 8's or 10s. I could then use a fairly low output DSP plate amp on each speaker for the subs or give up me beloved tube and and go with a two channel amp per side. Perhaps because of the desk the subs should be mounted front and rear so 8's would be a better fit or two front and two rear .6.5, 7's, etc.
I will see if any quality 6.9 subs available, that would look really cool to have on on front down low.
Just have to have something more exciting to look at than a single driver on a tall thin speaker🙂

As per my thread on full range I am going to do something like the left or right side of this picture as just cannot give up on my beloved Edgarhorns until I try them, just using the horns, super tweeters and crossovers.
The horns should be easier on my ears sitting right between the speakers and seldom sit down for critical listening on a couch. My wife hardly ever sits down, in the kitchen many hours a day cooking fabulous food🙂

Going this route, for now, hope it ends up working out for us, might need DSP, will need room treatments. Posted on another thread but just wanted to put one picture up here and say thanks for your inputs! I know this is challenging place to put a good system, part of the fun, worth trying to me.
Eight driver 8" SLOBs under Edgarhorns with Fostex super tweeters. No subs should be needed.
Thanks!
