1P39?

Rowing thru testing boxes of tubes I've accumulated...
I happened upon the title- Doesn't show on B&K 707 test chart. Search shows this is 'phototube' ??
So is this precursor to CDS photocell??

It is very slightly like a photocell. These photo tubes were made in high-vacuum for speed (actually for talking movies, so about 1930) and slightly gassy for sensitivity (counters/chimes at store doors). Also in different color sensitivities for instrumentation and even astrophotography.

Most of their applications were taken over by photo-diodes, but these are even more different than photocells.
