Driver advice

I am looking for high quality replacement divers for 1980 ADS 1530’s
I need 4 high quality 10” woofers that can handle high and low volume power of about 200 watts from about 20hz to above 500hz
A midrange 4 “ from 500 to 2500hz and tweeters from about 2500 and up
I have been looking at scanspeak for the quality.
Any help would be great. My drivers got missed up by shippers.
Thanks

Hi, so now you own only the carcass and the crossover.
I see that it 's a 'strange' design (like Infinity and other brands) where the woofer (s) has got little space behind.
The concept of High quality Is well known by DIYers so let's not talk about It .Nowadays I bet that a single 10" or a 9" (I'm thinking of the SBacoustics...)can do the job of the twin woofers.
In that ADS speaker the impedance Is 6 ohm, that Means that the woofers are 8 ohm (Wired in parallel =4 ohm) models and mid & tweeter are 8 ohm models.
I Guess ScanSpeak Is very good, I own the little 10F which was so renowed in here. Find a project that includes It or try It on your baffle and its crossover...It Will handle the Power! Or you May End in having a very good full-range unit, two Indeed...
Or you May like to have a 8 ohm speaker ( why? Less distortion From the amplifier) and use 16 ohm woofers.
'scrolling' the speaker manifacturer Pages ( the real fun in Life!) And looking for the most efficient speakers, I see Amazing 5" mids at 100-99dB (x W per Meter), many 10" midbass available with 16 ohm coil.
You(not me, ha ah- I like It but ..) can do a killer 1000 W Beast with that carcass...Just use thicker wires etc.yes, the crossover Will Be under investigation for some time so keep It outside to be manageable.
As you know, the crossover Is the Heart of a loudspeaker system...

Thankyou for your reply .
If I replace the ADS woofers with a good quality 10” of Say Scanspeak or Seas , is the sealed speaker boxs going to be compatible to other 10”s of other brands and what should I look for when selecting those woofers besides ohms and efficiency .
If the boxs are optimized for a 10” can most 10”s work or are they as touchy as ports?
Thanks for any info😊😊😊

I have plenty of power with a Emotiva XPA amp

P.S. This thread would be best moved to the 'Loudspeakers - Multi-Way' section of the forum where you will find the help you need regarding woofer compatibility.

Click on the 'Report' button on the bottom left of your post and ask a moderator to move it.

The ADS L1530 had each of its two Stifflite 10" woofers occupying its own separate sealed chamber.

The parameters of a replacement woofer should match the volume of its sealed chamber, so you should go about measuring what that is.

I am out of town and will measure the chamber volume as soon as I can.
Thanks for the advice

If you are replacing drivers with non-original ones then the crossover will need to be redesigned. Especially in a three way, there is "no maybe, perhaps, if you're lucky about it". Unless you are lucky enough to find a proven design that will work in the same sized enclosure you'll be better to start from scratch as you will end up with either something that does not perform or costs more (when trying to salvage the enclosures).
