I recently tried to plug in an amp I had laying around and it for some reason turns on but does not play any sound. Then I opened it up everything was good and then I noticed that there is a bunch of brown rust looking stuff all over the coil, and was wondering if that’s the problem. Also wondering if I have to replace the coil.
Welcome to the forum!
By "coil", do you mean "power transformer"?
To help you, we would need to know a lot more about the amp - and a few photographs would be nice.

OK, as it is a Class D amp you must mean "coil".

To me, it looks like the coil has overheated. If so, this will be due to the failure of other components in the circuit. A fix won't be as simple as just replacing the coil. We need a Class D expert to chime in, but I suspect that the fault may be impossible to diagnose without having physical access to the actual amplifier. I am presuming that you have no experience of repairing such amplifiers.
Replace the amp, it is cheaper and more reliable than attempting repairs.
The coil has shorted, maybe bad speakers or power supply.
At least the outputs are not SMD, but replacement of the Mosfets will cost almost as much as a new amp, add to that the time taken to find the fault.
And check the speakers before connecting the new amp.

Yea I don’t really have experience with repairing it only 17 and I’ve already amps that work but I was just trying to get this amp going cause I know it’s such a nice one. Right now I’ve one of those massive 15s in a big ol ported box that’s takes up all my trunk space with a Rockford punch 1000 to it. But this site is pretty good people reply fast and provide good help so thank y’all for helping
Again brother @JMFahey, always ready for non technical pointless comments - the 3rd example found after 10 minutes of searching the forum for your posts, and you have a lot of them, unemployed i guess...Your divination skills are nothing short of incredible 😱 , any tips for the next Powerball??? 😉
