If you can't find that, there is heat resistant clear paint available in various colors to color the bulbs.
Or diffused, color LEDs.

I've searched for paint at most hardware stores but couldn't find it. Only ordinary grill or exhaust paint.
I have cut the old wrapping with a X-acto knife and put it over the new lamps.
I want to keep the vintage look, so Leds are a no go. The pictures You see on a net search of these Led mods are ugly.
There are many lamps sold on Ebay but rated for 100-150mA. The originals are 8V 50mA. I've got them from JKL.

Like this, also some is on Amazon. More of a hobby thing, so it's not a hardware store item.

Get an infra red thermometer if you can, and if within range, clear coat auto finish with pigment (powder) added should be adequate.
You need about a pinch of pigment.
Also try Class F insulating varnish used in motor windings.
Nail Polish? Raid some lady's make up stuff, or buy it in a shop. Just kidding, gently. Might work, and small pack is enough for a few bulbs.
Or check out sleeves used in electrical wiring, but for a few inches...shipping will be expensive.
