Free speaker stuff - Portland OR area, pickup only

I'll be moving in about a month, and I have a vast supply of speaker drivers that I'm pretty sure I'll never use, and which need a good home. Most are new/unused and too valuable to throw away, but I don't have time or inclination to manage/packup/shipping/selling of any of it. So if I can't find needy diyAudio multi-way folks to come pick some of it up, It'll probably go to the local FreeGeeks place for disposal in a week or two.

PICK UP ONLY, NO SHIPPING (please don't ask!)

Some stuff I have includes:

1-inch compression horn drivers (Celestion, Peerless, B&C clones)
12" waveguides (clones of the QSC horn for Econowave Deluxe), 5 of these
a single SEOS12 waveguide
5" Aura NS-6 neo midwoofers (a LOT of them)
AuraSound NS-2 dome tweeters (quite a few of these too)
Various Dayton Audio woofers, mids, coaxials, point source ne full ranges
FaitalPro 10FE200 10" high efficiency woofers
2" Gento mid tweeters (good sized box of them
Fullrangers, tweeters, mids by Faital, Visiton, Techtonic
A few Celestion TF0410MR sealed back midranges'
a few Faital 3FE22
Dayton DC-130
several Eminence Delta 12A
A big roll of wood veneer (Santos Rosewood I think, but not sure_
^^ the above are free for someone to pick up.

So if you have the speakerbuilding jones and want to feed the habit in a pretty big way, here's your chance!

*I also have 4 new in box Eminence DeltaLite II 2512 that I would keep (light weight and just.... cool), but would be
willing to sell if so tempted for $350?

Unfortunately…I’m in CT…I actually thought about a road trip for a second…lol!

To anyone that is actually close and lucky enough to benefit from Bill’s generosity…I would offer to buy 8 of the Aura NS6 (which I’m assuming are the Aurasound NS6-255-8A from the CoSyne).

I have already collected the Celestion and Gento drivers, but only found the 4 Ohm Aura’s on eBay.

Hi Bill

Thanks for the confirmation …I’m hoping the response you’re awaiting is coming from the same person I have been talking to via PM about those drivers 🤞

@Patrick

Yes I saw your listing…this is “par for the course” regarding my luck. I’m completely on the other side of the country.

I envy the lucky devil who gets their hands on your CoSynes.

To be fair, they were Bill's Cosynes!

My reference speaker from about 2008 until 2014 was the Gedlee Summa. I actually wanted a set of Gedlee Abbeys, but they were back-ordered, so I bought one of his last Summas. I think they may have been his personal speakers - they were overbuilt to a ridiculous degree, made out of foam, carbon fiber and wood. Just a ridiculously good deal at their $10,000 MSRP.

In 2014 I was living in an unbelievably tiny condo in San Diego, and my wife basically banned the Summas from the house because the living room was so small. It was so small, I could nearly touch the front and back wall if I extended my arms out. I've seen closets that were bigger.

I reached out to Bill to buy his "Small Syns" around 2015, but they were already sold. I'd heard the Cosyne and the Small Syns at his house in Portland, and thought that they were quite comparable. But the Cosyne is way way bigger. I think it might be bigger than the Summa, it is a BIG speaker. The Summa weighs more because it's woofer weighs 30.4 lbs!

I rented a Danley SH-50 before I sold the Gedlee Summas, and liked it so much that I offered to buy it. But the owner never replied to my email. Although the SH-50 is nowhere near as big as the Cosyne or the Summa, it's unbelievably heavy because there's two woofers, four midranges and one compression driver. It might be one of the heaviest speakers (per cubic foot) ever made.

If I had to choose between the Cosyne and the SH-50, it's a tossup I think. The SH-50 images better because it's horn is bigger. The SH-50's output is just absurd, it's way more than anyone could possible need for a home setup. The SH-50 can hit 120dB without breaking a sweat. But I think the Cosyne is smoother overall. I think that Danley might have a world class hifi speaker if they took the "Synergy" technology and used it on a better waveguide... which is exactly what Danley is doing with their new hifi speakers.

In a nutshell - I think the Waslo Cosynes would be a good deal at $3000, but at the price I'm selling them for, it's just ridiculous.
