Is there a tool that I can get that would allow me to compress/crimp the speaker spade so that the OUTSIDE dimension is a little more narrow?
I am trying to fit a an existing speaker spade into an amp post that has a little plastic tightener (Cary Amp) with a gap that I insert the spade. It may be a little too small and need to squeeze the spade 0.10/2MM inches. Just don't want to use a standard pliers. So basically get from 15MM to 13MM outer dimension.

The material is soft, and you can easily cut it to size with metal shears, also called tin snips.
You want to keep the spade completely flat, so squeezing it is not the best thing.

To avoid bending it, you can grind it down, with a Dremel tool or even a bench type grinder , fine grain stone preferred.
If you don´t own or want to buy a Dremel for a single use (I would anyway, pretty useful, Chinese copies are dirt cheap) you can use a 20 cent nail file and a little patience.
They are called nail files but actually are some emery paper glued to a wooden stick.

I certainly can use Dremel. Would you do this before you crimped with an adjustable locking pliers?
I also found some magnetic vise jaw pads to help. Good tip on the tape! Make sure Amazon sends you the 1% selling fee for my cart with the dremel sanding barrels, vise and pads 😉
I have both a smooth jaw vise and a serrated jaw vise. The smooth one won't mar but also won't grip as well.
The serrated one will mar, but holds better.

right now I am living in a small condo so I don't have room for a decent workbench with a big vise
so I have a couple of small Panavise vises
