LM317/337 Identification

Hi,

I bought some Surface mount LM317 and LM337 regulators sometime ago. Now I need to use them, and I cannot identify which is which. The markings are very much like data production code rather than device type numbers. can anyone tell me how to tell which is which?

If in doubt just power them up in the same test circuit (say for a positive 6V configuration) using a current limited supply or an adjustable voltage bench PSU and series resistor feeding the regs. Two minutes of a job to identify which is which 🙂
