What is everyone using for an Android music app for local (on device) files?
I'm looking to try something else other than VLC, and I will only use something from the official Google playstore..
EDIT: I certainly don't mind paying for quality... Actually prefer to pay for something that isn't scrapping my cell phone and selling the data.
Please and thank you in advance!

I use Poweramp.
It's paid but here's a trial and it's worth every cent IMHO.

Not sure why not VLC. There is nothing that beats it in regard to versatility, affordability (free, no ads), format flexibility, sound quality and so on. Tried all sort of other players and always went back to VLC as Groove Music, my preferred player is sadly not available on Android.
VLC requires admin rights to ALL files. I maintain the "least privilege" posture on all my devices. Not sure why not VLC.
