Hello folks,
Having searched the site unsuccessfully for any content on the NewClassD Neutrino Clock upgrades (i.e. NOT the NewClassD Neutron Star clock!), I open this thread to hopefully get useful feedback...
I'd be very grateful for any performance experience reports from people having done Clock upgrades with Neutrino as I'm planning to do so for my DSP ADC/DAC unit, potentially for my streamer and CDP.
Thanks for feedback!
Winfried

Sorry TNT,Wait for the Higgs. It will beat all of them for sure.

...no idea what you refer to...
@fabflix
Well, not sure that this will help you any:
The TWTMC-PXO comes without crystal (50$ extra) and the Neutrino comes fully tested with mounted crystal.
Too bad that we cannot judge which one is more worth the money than the other...
I have dicided to buy the Neutrino 2 as it nicely fits my DEQX PDC without taking much space and only consuming 20mA.
Greetings,
Winfried

I have the 11.2896 MHz version. I don't regret that I bought it. It seems the Neutrino clock is still available from lctechs.dk
For the price of Neutron Star 3, you could just about get an Acko SOA oscillator. The latter would still need a power supply, and squaring would add some additional cost. However, each Acko oscillator comes with a phase noise plot proving it is actually SOA. OTOH, haven't seen any Neutron Star phase noise plots so hard to compare. https://sites.google.com/site/ackodac/modules-and-kits/clocks-and-oscillators
Short of that, the 2nd best clocks I have personally tried are Iancanada SC Pure, powered by a local LDO on a board that also offers reclocking: https://www.diyaudio.com/community/...2soverusb-pcm2dsd-rtz-dac.423401/post-7917601 The LDO is powered from an external pre-regulator board. With two regulators in series, the power is very clean. Also, very linear bypass caps are used for all clock circuitry. Overall cost with two clocks is probably around that of one Neutron Star clock. And at least Ian has posted some phase noise measurements for his SC Pure clocks.

There is a tiny MEMS resonator in the Neutrino. How does it compare to a conventional quarz crystal, in terms of phase noise?
Good crystal clocks using SC-cut quartz crystals should have better close-in phase noise than MEMS.
That's why Acko and Iancanada SC Pure clocks both use SC-cut crystals.

Please post in English.
yes, that's true, I use various 10M watches and I also have 22 and 24 sc ones. It's not easy to say what's best when you listen. I have a rubidium that is technically inferior to everything now, but has a higher scene and is more euphonious. the cybershaft is crazy, it has a chorus blackout. the neutrino is very robust on the bass, perhaps it cuts some harmonics. pure sc are almost as bright as rubidium, smooth, liquid. it's difficult to say what is best, personal taste is certainly important in the choice.

The SC Pure are not bright on my system (possibly given the way they are powered and buffered, along with the type of dac). Rather the bass is balanced, with deep, powerful bass possible if its its on the recording that way. If anything SC Pure may be a bit too warm and full sounding in the lower midrange (which makes them slightly closed-in as compared to Acko). High frequencies are clear, undistorted, and non-fatiguing.
