Wiring 2 class ab mono boards on single smps

Hi Gurus,

Newbie here still trying to learn and would like to seek your guidance if this is possible.

Can I wire two mono boards class ab to a single smps rated at 1000va to make it “stereo”/“dual mono”? they will share the SMPS power.

Is it a straighforward connection tap both +,-,and/0 of amp to smps?

In regard to typical, domestic stereo amplifiers, yes that's how stereo amps are connected, with particular attention to proper "star grounded" common return connections.
1. Both amplifiers wired to the same supply(s) and common star grounding circuit = standard stereo power wiring arrangement.
2. Dual mono is like it says; a special arrangement of 2 separate amplifiers, usually in the same case but each with its own separate dual rail power supply and only the protective earth connection is by definition and necessity, in common to both channel amps. They can be fed by a stereo pair with a common ground or otherwise for separate signal sources and separately configured by suitable types of preamp, each adjusted as required for the purpose. Ground loops and other earth wiring blunders often cause hum problems but there are some solutions. Check this article: https://www.sound-au.com/psu-wiring.htm

Dual mono systems were intended for mixing systems but have become popular in hi-fi and particularly audiophile systems too. All the same, I wouldn't recommend them for use with a SMPS.
